Rita Coleman, 83, of Yazoo City passed away Friday, December 2, 2016 at the Yazoo City Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center.
Funeral services were Monday at the Stricklin-King Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Henderson and Rev. Matt Clark officiating. Burial followed at Short Creek Cemetery.
Mrs. Coleman was born Dec. 9, 1932 in New Holstein, Wisconsin. For most of her life, Ms. Rita was a homemaker, but she had also worked as head cashier at Freds Department Store. She was a member of Eden Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husbands; Johnny Coleman, Ray James Johnson, and Fritz Alten, sister; Shirley House, and her mother: Ora Wieland.
Survivors are her son; Jeff Johnson (Teresa) and grandson David Johnson, both of Olive Branch; survivors also include her sons, Jimmy Alten of San Diego, Calif., David Alten of New Holstein, WI, and Mike Alten of Sheboygan, WI; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews in Michigan and California.
