Philip “Phil” Ferris, 94, died Nov. 11, 2017 at the VA Nursing Home in Ridgeland.
Visitation will be Sunday, Nov. 19 from 1:30-2:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church.
Funeral services are Nov. 19 at 2:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Charlie Wingard officiating. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery under the direction of Stricklin King Funeral Home.
Mr. Ferriss was born Feb. 11, 1923 in Yazoo County to Ernest M. and Ethel E. O’Neal Ferriss. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a retired salesman for Mississippi Chemical Corporation and a member of First Presbyterian Church of Yazoo City.
Survivors include his wife, Cornelia “Doodles” Ferriss; two daughters, Maryion Crumpler and Betty Brown; a sister, Janie Adam; two brothers, Paul Ferriss and Billy Ferriss; two sisters, Mary Evelyn Lambeth and Elaine Johnson; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
