Pat Gooden, 92, of Albuquerque, N.M., who spent the last months of his life in Delaware, Ohio, passed away peacefully Friday evening February 12, 2016 at Grady Memorial Hospital in Delaware, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held at a later date in Mississippi. Arrangements are entrusted to the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, Delaware, Ohio.
Mr. Gooden was born on November 11, 1923 in Benton to the late Homer and Atlantis (Simpson) Gooden. He was a WWII US Army Veteran and a retired self-employed carpenter and enjoyed building cabinets.
Pat was most proud of his children and taught them if a job is worth doing it is worth doing right. Pat enjoyed riding his motorcycle, driving his cars, and making many trips to Mississippi for family gatherings. Pat and Barbara after his retirement visited the National Parks in the Southwest, entered his antique Ford car and tractor in car shows and spent time bird watching.
He is survived by his Wife Barbara (Zuris) Gooden and they were married June 1, 1959; sons: Phillip Gooden of Delaware, OH, Timothy (Debra) Gooden of Navarre, FL, Homer (Deborah) Gooden of Birmingham, AL; daughters: Alexandria Gooden of Albuquerque, NM, Patricia and Gerald Richardson of Williamsburg, VA, Alfreda Woodall of Yazoo City, MS; grandchildren: Avram, Wyatt, Cindy Lou, Dwayne Gooden, Anthony, Marlon Richardson; brother: :Lemeul "Maney" Gooden of Mentor, OH; sister: Freda Cole of Cleveland, MS.
He was preceded in death by brothers: Everett, Hayes; sisters: Milverta, Lena, Omega.
