Mary Elizabeth Thrasher Kight, 92 years, 89 days, of Yazoo City passed away at her daughters's residence in Pearl Friday, February 9, 2017. She worked most of her adult life for E&W Manufacturing in Yazoo City and was a member of First Baptist Church.
Born the youngest of eight children to Joe and Minnie Donald, she was preceded in death by her husband L. V. Thrasher, sons; Billy Thrasher and Lewis “Bubba” Thrasher and daughter Debra Kight, her parents, and 3 3 grandchildren.
Survivors are her sons; Dale (Sherry) Thrasher, Vincent (Deanna) Kight, daughters; Audrey (Chuck) Langston, Jinnie (Farrell) Boyd, daughter-in-law; Carolyn Thrasher, 9 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation & service will be at Stricklin-King Funeral Home Chapel Saturday, February 11, Visitation will begin at 12:00 Noon with services following at 2:00 P.M., internment will be in Flora City Cemetery.
Rev. Jeff Dixon and Dr. Coleman Boyd will officiate the service. Her life and legacy is a Godly woman, who loved the Lord, her family, Sunday school class, friends, and prayed daily for each of them by name. We praise the Lord for the gift of her, and the example she displayed for each of us.
