Mark Stephen Cader, 53, passed away on Good Friday, April 7, 2023, after a courageous three-year battle with cancer.
Mark was born in Jackson, MS on August 8, 1969, to Mr. and Mrs. Robert G. Cader. He grew up in Yazoo City and graduated from Yazoo City High School. He then attended Delta State University, where he was a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity. Mark was a sales supervisor with Southern Beverage, Inc.. He formed many close friendships with his work family through the years there. Mark especially enjoyed playing golf, attending Ole Miss sporting events, and spending time with his Lake Washington Hunting Camp crew. He loved spending time with his family and friends, who have many wonderful stories that they will always treasure.
Mark is survived by his wife of almost 25 years, Christy Pittman Cader; son, Dillon Cader and daughter, Ann Stewart Cader; parents, Robert and Linda Cader; sister, Marcy Cader; brothers, Michael Cader (Julie) and Marshall Cader (Jennifer); and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Matthew Cader; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph S. Bates and Mr. and Mrs. Robert G. Cader.
A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, April 11 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Yazoo City. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the church. Pallbearers will be Chip Heidel, Todd Kitchings, Martin McGraw, Bret Ruschewski, Brad Stevens, Bill Summers, Craig Verhage, and Wade Ward. Honorary pallbearers are his work family: Eddie Alias, Tony Cage, Gary Counts, Charlie Freeman, Walter Hogue, Randy Johnson, Kay Mills, Cleotha O'Banner, Eric Poe, and Alton Taylor.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Dr. Tammy Young and staff at Jackson Oncology, Madison Downs, Hailey Parks, and staff at Traditions Hospice, and Jennifer Bowman, Lisa Robison and staff at Martha Coker Greenhouses for their wonderful care of Mark during his illness and especially these last few weeks.
