Marguerite Jean "Peggy" McCann Coleman died Friday, Feb. 19 at The Blake in Ridgeland.
Funeral services were Sunday at First United Methodist Church. Burial followed at Glenwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Coleman was born April 27, 1925, in St. Paul, Minnesota. Her parents were Mark and Clarice McCann. She grew up in Dallas, TX where she met her future husband, Clark "Click" Wesley Coleman, Jr. of Doddsville, MS. They were married for 67 years. They lived in Yazoo City, where they raised their family. She worked at Miss. Chemical Corp, was active in First United Methodist Church, enjoyed all Mississippi State sports, and was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband," Click"; her son, Clark Wesley Coleman, III; sister, Donna McKelvey of Wayland, NY; and brother, Mark McCann of Dallas, TX.
She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Coleman Mockbee (David) of Madison, Cynthia Coleman Thomas (Ernest) of Madison ; grandchildren, Kate Whitley (Dave) of Nashville, Wesley Mockbee (Chelsea) of Jackson, Libbie Bouck (Peter) of Memphis, and Cole Mockbee (Ann Collins) of Jackson; and great-grandson, Steele Mockbee.
Memorials may be made to Mississippi State University in the name of Clark and Peggy Coleman or First United Methodist Church Yazoo City.
