Lee Etta Curry, 73, died Feb. 11, 2017.
Funeral services were Saturday at the Yazoo City Community Complex. Burial followed at Glenwood Cemetery under the direction of Scott Memorial Funeral Home.
Mrs. Curry was born Dec. 13, 1943 to Bill and Beulah Coleman in Indianola. She was the oldest of 13 children.
She married Tommy Curry in 1959. Lee Etta was best known for the love she showed to others. Family unity was so important to her that she often assited in raising many of her relatives’ children.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Tommy Curry Jr. and Calvin Curry; two brothers, Willie Lee Coleman and Joe Lee Coleman; and one sister, Sarah Coleman.
Survivors include four sons, Clarence Curry (Sandy), Bobby Curry and Milton Curry, all of Yazoo City, and Willie Curry of Kennett, Mo.; five daugthers, Kathy O’Banner (Cleotha), Jacqueline Hayes (Roosevelt), Arlisa Curry and Deloris Ellis (Robert), all of Yazoo City. and Lillian Denise Curry of Jackson; seven brothers, Roy Lee Coleman, O.B. Coleman Sr., Robert Collins (Tracy) and Isaac Collins of Yazoo City, Tom Collins of Vaughan, George Collins of Holly Bluff and Lonnie Collins (Gail) of Jackson; three sisters, Delorris Smith (A.C.) and Ethel Thomas of Yazoo City, and Beulah Bradshaw of Chicago; 48 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren; special friends, Willie Lewis, Martha Lou Shinal and Melba Jean Henderson, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Serving as pallbearers were DonE’Rico O’Banner, Derrick Brewer, De’Ondrick O’Banner, George C. Luckett, Benjamin Luckett, Arthur Milsap, Darrell Maxwell, Robert Ellis, Chris McGee and Marquez Taylor.
Honorary pallbearers were Clarence Curry, Milton Curry, Bobby Curry, Roy Lee Coleman, Robert Collins, George Collins, Lonnie Collins, Tom Collins, Issac Collins, Jacob Luckett, O.B. Coleman and O.B. Coleman Jr.
