Kenneth D. Tyson, 87, of Yazoo City passed away Saturday, December 9, 2017 at The University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.
He was retired as an owner/operator of Tyson Southland Service Station and also worked for Randy Saxton at Saxton Auto Parts and Service and a member of First Baptist Church.
He was proud of his service to his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War.
An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed taking his son and grandchildren hunting and fishing.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 12 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. At Stricklin-King Funeral Home and Wednesday, December 13th 9:30 A.M. until the 11:00 A.M. Services. at Parkview Church of God on Highway 16 East Yazoo City.
Survivors are his son Rand (Carmen) Tyson, grandsons; Hayes Tyson, Austin Tyson & Dean Ellis Tyson all of Yazoo City, brother; Charles Tyson of Tchula, sisters; Alfreda (John) Dennis of Pearl, MS,
Thelma (James) Martin of Lexington, Faye Jennings of Rolling Fork,& Marion (Alburton) Swinney of Lexington.
Mr. Tyson was preceded in death by his parents; Ellis & Olive Hearn Tyson, wife; Lanelle Tyson, brothers; Van and Walter Tyson, and sisters; Peggy Watson, Lurline McBride, Derinder Winstead, Myree Shanks, & Linda Tyson
