Kenneth “Buddy” Sayle Woodard, 85, died June 6, 2020 at the State Veterans Home in Jackson.
Mr. Woodard was born Dec. 10, 1933 in Black Hawk to Henry and Oma Robinson Woodard. He was a retired fire chief for Yazoo City, a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member of Mt. Creek Baptist Church in Florence.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Lane Woodard.
Survivors include his sons, Jimmy Woodard of Brandon, Jerry Woodard of Florence and Michael Woodard of Yazoo City; a brother, Lee Woodard of Greenwood; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Glenwood Cemetery with Ricky Shivers officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Stricklin-King Funeral Home.
