Joseph Daniel “Joe Danny” Martin, Jr, 81 of Bentonia died Thursday, October 12, 2016 at The University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson from injuries sustained in an automobile crash on Jerry Clower Boulevard in Yazoo City Friday, October 7.
Services will be Saturday, October 15 at Oak Grove Baptist Church with visitation beginning at 12:30 until the 2 p.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Rev. Josh Mathews officating.
Mr. Martin was born Aug. 22, 1935 in Yazoo County to Joseph Daniel Martin Sr. and Mildred Kinnison Martin. He worked in sales at Sanderson & Associates and was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Amy Martin; daughter, Gee Gee Martin Bledsoe of Samithville, Mo.; grandchildren, Aaron Hendricks of Richland, Kevin Hendricks of Estes Park, Colo., Drake Hendricks of Kissimmee, Fla., and Reaghan Hendricks of Smithville, Mo.; great-grandchildren, Glorianna Hendricks and Amari Hendricks; and a sister, Wanda Faye Hearst of Benton.
Serving as pallbearers are Aaron Hendricks, Kevin Hendricks, T.R. Hilderbrand, Drake Hendricks, Billy Martin and Randy Hearst.
Memorials be made to Oak Grove Baptist Church or St. Judes Children's Research Hospital.
