Funeral services for Jeannette Hendrix Perry, 85, of Natchez, formerly of Yazoo City, who died Wednesday, July 6. 2016 will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at First Presbyterian Church in Yazoo City at 3 pm with the Rev. Charlie Wingard and Rev. William C. Hughes officiating. Visitations will be held Friday, July 8 from 5 -6:30 pm at New Covenant Presbyterian Church in Natchez and Saturday, July 9 at 1:30 pm at First Presbyterian Church in Yazoo City.
Burial will be in the Perry family plot at the Glenwood Cemetery in Yazoo City following the service under the direction of Laird's Funeral Home of Natchez.
Jeannette Hendrix Perry was born November 12, 1930, in Yazoo City, Mississippi, the daughter of the late Thomas Henry Hendrix and Margaret Seward Hendrix. Upon graduation from Yazoo City High School, she attended Ward-Belmont College in Nashville, Tennessee, and then graduated from Ole Miss in 1952. On October 27, 1951, she married her childhood sweetheart William Sidney "Billy" Perry, Jr. who passed away May 8, 2008.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Thomas Hendrix Perry; her only sibling, Miriam Hendrix Newman; and her sister-in-law Shirley Perry Allen.
She is survived by three sons William Sidney Perry, III and wife Deborah; Russell Seward Perry and wife Wendy; Dickson Dansby Perry and wife Alyson; and one daughter, Jeanne Perry Edwards and husband Gary; grandchildren Sidney Perry and wife Kathy; John Perry and wife Kelly; Daniel Perry; Seward and Mary Russell Perry; Meredith, Caroline and Thomas Perry; and Stephen Edwards and wife Mary-Margaret: great-grandchildren, Houston, Annie and Mary-Thomas Edwards; a brother-in law, James W. Newman III.; and cousin Doyle Moorhead and wife Allene; and numerous nieces and nephews, and other relatives. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and Robert Moorhead, Walter Newman and Steve Randolph.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to French Camp Academy, One Fine Place, French Camp, MS 39745; or charity of choice. The family wishes to thank Dr. Kenneth Stubbs, the staff of Magnolia Village, and Camellia Hospice for their love and care of our beloved mother.
