On June 27, 2016 James E. “Rusty” Restivo lost his battle to esophageal cancer.
Rusty retired from the Department of Defense in Pt. Huenme, Calif. in September of 1994. He moved to the Phoenix community in Yazoo County in September of 1996.
Even as a retired person, he stayed very active. He realized his dream of building his home. He loved the community, and he often said that even though he had traveled around the world, these were the best people he had associated with. He will be missed by all.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda; seven children, Steven Lewis of Delton, Mich., Cheryl Davis of Camarillo, Calif., DeAnna Johanson of Riverbank, Calif., Deborah Restivo of Pleasant Hill, Calif., Ralph Lofton of Middleberg, Fla., James Simmons of Roseville, Calif. and Misty Clopot of Bothell, Wash.; 19 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and two brothers, Bob Restivo of Neosho, Mo. and Paul Restivo of Lynchberg, Va.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Oct. 11 at 2 p.m.
