Billy Wayne Adcock, Sr., 72, of Gautier died June 12, 2016, in Gautier.
Mr. Adcock was a native of Yazoo City and a graduate of Yazoo City High School. He served in the U.S. Navy four years. He was a Superintendent at Jamestown Metal Marine Sales and Service and worked for the company for over 25 years. He loved his Jamestown family and was a mentor to many coworkers. When his children were young, Billy was active in the community as a coach. He made lifelong impressions on the many lives that he touched. Billy enjoyed fishing, spending time with family and friends, and entertaining everyone with his jokes, brain teasers, pranks, and taking his dog to the park.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Malcolm J. Adcock and Maude Adcock Carley of Yazoo City; his brother, Malcom Adcock of Shreveport, La. and his sisters, Frances Moore of Valdosta, Ga. and Barbara McGinty of Yazoo City.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Barbara Newton Adcock of Gautier; his son, Billy Wayne Adcock, Jr. (Hope Brown Adcock) of Long Beach; his son, Phillip Raymond Newton (Katherine Billings) of Gautier; his daughter, Angela Adcock Gregory (Maurice Gregory, Jr.) of Gautier; his brother, Gerald Adcock (Barbara Adcock) of Baltimore, Md.; his sister, Lucy Adcock McCaslin of Austin, Texas; his grandchildren, Peyton Johnathon Miller and Maurice Gregory, III both of Gautier, River Blaine Adcock, Reece Lane Adcock, and Ava Belle Adcock all of Long Beach; his sisters-in-law, Linda Smith (Bobby Vining) of Ocean Springs, Betty (William) White of Pascagoula, and Pam (Brent) Robichaux of Gautier; and a host of nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
A "Celebration of Life" memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 18 at (the original) "Off the Hook" restaurant located 707 Krebs Avenue in Pascagoula, from 5 p.m. - until. Feel free to drop by anytime and stay as long as you would like. In his honor, we will come together to eat, drink, exchange memories, and share many laughs.
