Alva James Peyton III, 63, was the youngest of four children born to the late Judge A.J. Peyton Jr. and Mrs. Ruthie Carter Peyton.
After an extended illness, A.J. transitioned from earth to eternity on September 5, 2016 at home in Canton with his wife by his bedside.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Dr. Pearl Wales; daughter, Stephanie Wales, sisters, Greta Peyton Terry (Charles), Alva Ruth Peyton Taylor and Aldena Peyton Snow; brothers, David Peyton (Patricia), Eddricke Peyton (Kara) and Gerald Peyton; sisters-in-law, Paulette Wales and Carolyn Jefferson; brothers-in-law, Lafayette Wales (Genie) and Louis Wales Jr. (Monique); and numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 10 at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Yazoo City at 11 a.m.
