Allen Fredrick “Fred” Johnston, Sr., 86, of Yazoo City passed away Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Martha Coker Green Houses.
Visitation will be Monday, July 10 from 5-7 p.m. at Stricklin-King Funeral Home with services Tuesday, July 11 at 11 a.m. at Center Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Daryl Oster officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Stricklin-King Funeral Home.
Mr. Johnston was born Jan. 25, 1932 to Henry A. and Trennie Elizabeth Sims Johnston. He was a retired supervisor for Mississippi Chemical Corporation, a U.S. Navy Veteran and a member of Center Ridge Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lou Rita Carley Johnston; and a son, Allen Fredrick Johnson Jr.
Survivors include his son; Richard Johnston (Christy) of Yazoo City; daughter, Margaret Robertson (Michael) of Yazoo City, 6 grandchildren, Mickey Robertson, Charlotte Robertson, Olivia Athey (Kyle), Fred Johnston III, Ashton Johnston (Laken) and Hunter Johnston; 7 great -grandchildren, and daughter-in-law, Lisa Johnston of Yazoo City.
Pallbearers are Mickey Robertson, Ashton Johnston, Fred Johnston, Hunter Johnston, Kyle Athey and Budgie Reeves.
