Adlai Cox passed away on June 9, 2017.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 1 p.m. in the Jevonne K. McCoy Cafetorium at McCoy Elementary School in Yazoo City, with Rev. Willie E. Smith officiating.
Mr. Cox was born on August 2, 1953 in Chicago, Illinois.
He was a 1971 graduate of Yazoo City High School, and a 1975 graduate of Mississippi Valley State University.
Mr. Cox served in the United States Air Force, and was socially involved in the TABS and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
He was a retired educator and was affiliated with New Zion M.B. Church.
Mr. Cox was preceded in death by his father, Washington Roosevelt Cox, and his step-father, Lawrence Reed.
His survivors include his mother, Dorothy Reed; three siblings, Rose (William) Whitfield, Yarvin Cox, and Hillman (Daphne) Reed; a loyal friend, Geraldine 'Jerri' Moore; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
