GRAMMY®-nominated band North Mississippi Allstars will take the stage at GRAMMY Museum® Mississippi on Sunday, Nov. 16, at 4 p.m. for a special Spotlight program featuring an intimate conversation and performance. The conversation will be moderated by Lawrence “Boo” Mitchell, renowned music engineer, producer, and composer, and owner of the legendary Royal Studios in Memphis, TN. Sponsored by Visit Mississippi, the event will highlight the band’s storied career, upcoming tour, and the release of their new album, Still Shakin’.
Formed in 1996 by brothers Luther and Cody Dickinson, North Mississippi Allstars have spent nearly three decades carrying forward the region’s musical traditions while creating their own distinctive sound—what they call “Modern Mississippi Music.” With roots deeply planted in the state’s blues and folk heritage, the band has collaborated and toured with musical greats including RL Burnside, Mavis Staples, Robert Plant, and Buddy Guy.
“We are thrilled to welcome North Mississippi Allstars back to the Museum for this very special program,” said Emily Havens, Executive Director of GRAMMY Museum Mississippi. “Their influence on Mississippi’s music legacy is profound, and we look forward to celebrating both their 30th anniversary as a band and the release of Still Shakin’ with our community.”
Tickets to Spotlight: North Mississippi Allstars are $20 for GRAMMY Museum Mississippi members and $25 for non-members. Tickets are available now for members at grammymuseumms.org and will go on sale to the public on Monday Oct. 22 at 10 am.
Additional support of the program is provided by Earth Data Corporation, SuperTalk Mississippi, Needle Specialty Products, Entergy, Hardrock Hotel and Casino, Regions, and Robinson Electric.
