As police continue to piece together the details, a Yazoo City man was charged with manslaughter this week in connection with a deadly stabbing.
Darrell B. Taylor, 26, of 109 Maynie Alley, was charged with manslaughter following questioning with local investigators.
Jeffrey Williams, 32, was found dead in the middle of Maynie Alley, not far from the suspect’s home, on Sept. 28.
“There was an altercation between the victim and suspect,” said Tilmon Clifton, with the Yazoo City Police Department. “An object was then used to strike the victim in the chest area.”
Officers discovered Williams’ body with chest wounds late last Monday. Williams was also pronounced dead at the scene.
“We are still investigating what specific object was used during this altercation,” Clifton said.
Both Williams and Taylor had a history with the local police department.
Taylor remained in jail as of press time with a $150,000 bond.
