A Yazoo County man was arrested over the weekend after a former girlfriend accused him of raping and holding her hostage in her own home.
Dale Meek, 46, was charged with rape and kidnapping last Friday.
Terry Gann, chief investigator with the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department, said more charges could be added to Meek’s lengthy criminal history.
“It started as a domestic dispute at a former girlfriend’s home in Yazoo City,” Gann said. “It escalated to multiple acts of rape, and he is accused of holding the victim hostage inside her home for about three hours.”
Gann said no one else was inside the home at the time of the alleged assault.
