Yazoo County reached 103 confirmed cases of COVID-19 Tuesday according to the Mississippi Department of Health.
Of that number 71 of the confirmed cases are inmates at the Yazoo Federal Correctional Complex.
Sixty-four inmates are reported to be infected at the low security facility and seven inmates are reported to be infected at the medium facility.
Four staff members at FCC Yazoo have also been infected, according to the Bureau of Prisons.
A mobile testing facility was set up on Tuesday at the Wardell Leach Recreational Complex to test local residents.
Mississippi reported 204 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday along with 14 new deaths related to the virus. The total number of cases statewide is 4,716 with 183 deaths. One death in Yazoo County has been reported as related to COVID-19.
Lauderdale County has been hit the hardest with 17 total deaths. Leflore County has 12 reported deaths, and Pearl River County has 10.
The virus has been particularly dangerous for the elderly and individuals with pre-existing health conditions. Cardiovascular problems, diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity and lung disease are among the health conditions that have caused the greatest complications in Mississippi.
