A visitor to the local county jail soon found herself a new resident of the facility after she allegedly snuck in tobacco to an inmate.
Dysha Bogan, 25, was charged with introducing contraband into a correctional facility. The inmate she was visiting last weekend, Mario Jones, will also be charged with possession of contraband.
Terry Gann, chief investigator with the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department, said Bogan was visiting Jones, a state inmate, at the Yazoo County Regional Correctional Facility.
“Jones was found in possession of the tobacco after viewing video footage,” Gann said. “Bogan was visiting him when she introduced the contraband into the facility.”
Both remained in jail as of press time.
In other smuggling arrests, Natalie Coleman, 41, was charged with introducing contraband into a correctional facility and possession of marijuana.
Coleman allegedly brought a felony amount of marijuana into the Federal Correctional Complex.
