A suspect wanted for allegedly assaulting a man with brass knuckles was apprehended by police officers last weekend.
Xavier Lee was charged with aggravated assault, stemming from an altercation that occurred on July 19 on Locust Street near the Yazoo Estates apartment complex.
“An altercation arose between Lee and another subject,” said Capt. Tilmon Clifton, with the Yazoo City Police Department. “Lee allegedly struck the victim in the face with brass knuckles, causing severe damage to the victim’s jaw.”
Lee was arrested Sunday on a warrant from the summer altercation after police learned of his location.
He remained in jail as of press time on a $60,000 bond.
