Investigators continue to seek the public’s assistance in finding the suspects involved in two of Yazoo City’s 2016 murder cases.
Capt. Tilmon Clifton, with the Yazoo City Police Department, said no arrests have been made in the murders of DeAngelo Brown and Alfred Coleman. But he said Crimestoppers is increasing its cash reward in an effort to search for tips that could lead to closing these two cases.
“Just last week, we started receiving leads in the Alfred Coleman homicide,” Clifton said. “But we are asking for any information that any citizen may have to please call Crimestoppers. Of course, names and information will not be released and will remain anonymous.”
Clifton said Crimestoppers is offering up to $2,000 cash reward for each case.
Brown, 24, was found gunned down in the parking lot of Twin Plaza Cinema in February of 2016.
Brown’s body was discovered by a business owner as she pulled into the parking lot.
Brown’s murder sparked mourning from the community with several prayer vigils and a rally calling for justice in his homicide.
Coleman, 40, was found dead from stab wounds at Magnolia Crossing Apartments on West Broadway in May of 2016.
Friends mourning Coleman remembered him for being involved in church and for being a talented singer.
