Officers are searching for a suspect involved in a Yazoo City shooting over the weekend that left one man shot and attacked in an alley.
Ralph Shelby is wanted by the Yazoo City Police Department on aggravated assault charges.
Cpt. William Nevels said the shooting occurred during the early morning hours last Saturday in an alley off of First Street.
“An altercation began inside a home, which led to the suspect shooting the victim in his lower leg,” Nevels said. “After the shooting, the suspect continued to assault the victim.”
The case remains under investigation, but a warrant was issued for Shelby’s arrest this week.
