After stopping a man suspected of driving drunk, officers uncovered a large amount of marijuana possibly heading to the streets.
Nicholas Love, of Yazoo City, was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute after a traffic stop last Monday.
Tilmon Clifton, with the Yazoo City Police Department, said officers pulled Love over after they suspected he was driving intoxicated.
“He then shared with officers that he had illegal substances inside his vehicle,” Clifton said. “Officers found over an ounce of marijuana and also recovered a small scale.”
Love had a history of misdemeanor charges with the police department, Clifton added.
Love remained in jail at press time with a $30,000 bond if eligible.
Police also made another felony drug arrest when Leslie Miller was charged with possession of a controlled substance after officers recovered a felony amount of methamphetamine.
