Video footage from a home security system helped identify and catch a home burglary suspect.
Terrance Bass was charged with house burglary after officers caught him driving the same getaway car captured in the victim’s security footage.
Cpt. William Nevels, with the Yazoo City Police Department, said the West Eighteenth Street home was burglarized around 9:30 a.m. last Monday.
“The alarm system notified the homeowner, who later discovered his front door had been kicked in,” Nevels said. “His camera system identified the suspect and his vehicle. Officers caught the suspect in that same vehicle across town.”
Nevels said a television set was stolen from the home but has since been recovered.
“Associates of Bass returned the property,” Nevels said. “We also believe other were involved in this incident as the investigation continues.”
