A pair of burglars are behind bars after they allegedly stole several items from a hunting camp in rural Yazoo County. Warrants were quickly issued for their arrests after the stolen items were found by investigators sitting on their front porch.
Carnell Williams and Tresa Gallagher were both charged with burglary last Sunday.
Terry Gann, chief investigator with the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department, said the two suspects allegedly broke into a hunting camp on Steve Johnson Road near the Dover community. Two deer stands, deer blinds, a flat screen television and other hunting items were reported stolen from the camp.
“Witnesses gave us information that led us to identifying the suspects,” Gann said. “We went to their home on Chew Forks Road to question them about some of the stolen items when we noticed the items sitting outside their front door.”
Although they were not home, warrants were issued for both Williams and Gallagher. Gann said they were arrested upon returning to their home.
Bonds were not set for the pair since both were already out on felony bonds. Williams was out on bond for domestic aggravated assault and assault on a law enforcement officer. Gallagher was out on bond for burglary.
In other crime news, Hunter Dees, 20, was also arrested for allegedly stealing a truck that was found in his possession.
