The aunt of murder suspect Johnny Mack Brown is urging the community to reserve judgment until the whole story is told.
Cynthia Walker said she is praying for the family of Ricky Saxton, and she hopes that justice will be served. She said that justice can only be served if the truth is revealed about what happened
“I just ask that we all stand still and out of respect for Mr. Saxton wait until all of the facts come out,” Walker said. “I’m asking that the community be prayerful and wait until all the evidence is presented. Let’s be mindful and respectful of the fact that Mr. Saxton lost his life.”
Walker, who persuaded Johnny Mack Brown to turn himself in to Sheriff Jake Sheriff, said she is convinced that there are others involved with the crime who have not been arrested.
She said that on the day Johnny Mack Brown was reported to have escaped from custody at the Yazoo City Police Department he was actually there to have a recording device he had been wearing for investigators to be adjusted.
“He was wearing a wire on the day he supposedly broke out of jail,” Walker said. “He had been wearing a wire for some time. That tells me that there’s more to the story. Hopefully we will find out the truth during the trial.”
Walker said she is convinced that the investigation stopped short of identifying everyone involved with the crime, but she believes the truth will come out during the trial.
