Officers quickly arrested a repeat offender early Monday morning after he allegedly invaded the home of an elderly woman, stealing a television.
Billy Robinson, of Yazoo City, was charged with breaking and entering a home around 2:30 a.m. Monday.
“A 98-year-old female victim called 911 and reported that someone was breaking into her home,” said Chief Andre Lloyd. “When officers arrived, the suspect had left the scene. Another citizen called and reported that a male subject was running down West Second Street with a television in his hands.”
Officers then quickly set a perimeter around the area, got out on foot and captured Robinson not far from the recovered stolen items.
“After further Investigation, it was determined that Robinson was in fact the suspect who broke into the residence in question,” Lloyd said. “He has an extensive record similar to this crime in the past.
Robinson was awaiting a bond hearing as of press time, and is currently being investigated for another felony crime.
