A Holly Bluff farmer was killed Wednesday afternoon after his tractor rolled over on top of him.
Yazoo County Coroner Ricky Shivers said Joe Allen Woodard, 74, was discovered by his family underneath his tractor on their farmland on Woodard Road.
“While he was bush hogging, he noticed a grader blade in the field,” Shivers said. “Attempting to go around it, his tractor wheel got on the edge of an old fishing pond. The tractor then rolled on top of him.”
Shivers said he believes the accident occurred around noon Wednesday, but Woodard’s family didn’t discover him until 7:30 p.m. after searching for him when he didn’t return home that evening.
