A special election for an alderman will be held next month in the village of Eden.
The election will be held on Dec. 20 to fill a vacancy on the Board of Aldermen.
Following the resignation of an alderman on Nov. 5, the remaining board members approved a special election during its last regular board meeting.
The qualifying deadline for candidates is Monday, Dec. 2, by 5 p.m.
Each candidate shall qualify by a petition filed with the municipal clerk, signed by no less than 15 qualified voters of the village of Eden.
If no candidate receives a majority of the votes, the two candidates with the highest number of votes will appear on the ballot during a run-off election two weeks after the general election.
