A Yazoo County man broke into a home, hoping to retrieve items that were stolen from him. But he got the wrong address, and his mistake landed him behind bars.
Cody Nicholson, 18, was charged with breaking and entering and malicious mischief.
Terry Gann, chief investigator with the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department, said Nicholson was the victim of petit larceny earlier last week. Deputies had a list of suspects they were tracking down in an effort to make an arrest in the case.
But Nicholson decided to take matters into his own hands.
“He took it upon himself to break into a house on Firetower Road where he was going to attempt to retrieve his stolen items,” Gann said. “But he went to the wrong house. Upon learning that, he went into a rage and destroyed the house.”
Nicholson remained in jail at press time.
