A Yazoo County investigator continued following leads in a burglary – even after he was off the clock and the trail led outside of the county – until he had a suspect in custody.
Sheriff Jake Sheriff is praising the work of Chief Investigator Terry Gann for a burglary arrest Gann made over the weekend.
“He came out off duty, and pursued this case on his own time,” Sheriff said.
The Sheriff’s Department received a report Saturday that a hunting club in Vaughan had been burglarized. A lawnmower valued at approximately $12,000 and a trailer were stolen from the camp.
After investigating, Gann followed leads to Clinton and then on to Bolton, where the stolen property was recovered.
Linnie Shoulders was arrested and charged with grand larceny and burglary.
Deputies also made a quick arrest in an unrelated ATV theft case.
Last Wednesday deputies responded to a report of a four wheeler being stolen from a shed on Ingram Road.
Johnathan Bennett, who was out on bond for felony burglary charges, was arrested and charged with stealing the four wheeler.
Bennett is being held without bond at the Yazoo County Correctional Facility.
