A Yazoo County woman is facing felony drug charges after deputies discovered methamphetamine while booking her in jail for a misdemeanor arrest.
Shayla Hoover, 35, was charged with possession of a controlled substance. She is also charged with a misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled substance after a small bag of marijuana was found hidden in her clothing.
Sheriff Jake Sheriff said a traffic stop on Center Ridge Road initially led to Hoover’s arrest when deputies discovered drug paraphernalia.
“This is another one of those cases where an initial arrest led to additional discoveries,” Sheriff said.
Hoover remained in the Yazoo County Jail at press time Thursday.
