Yazoo County deputies made a drug arrest early Sunday morning after finding the suspect unconscious in his vehicle.
Sheriff Jake Sheriff said deputies were on routine patrol in the Little Yazoo area when they spotted a pickup truck parked near a local business with the lights on and engine running at 1:46 a.m.
Sheriff said that inside the truck deputies saw the driver passed out with drug paraphernalia in plain view.
“After waking the suspect, they found a bag of marijuana, scales used to weigh the drug for sale, syringes, a marijuana pipe and a pistol,” Sheriff said.
Roger McDaniel, who was already out on a felony bond, was charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of paraphernalia and an enhanced weapon charge.
Sheriff said McDaniel is not eligible for bond because he was already out on bond at the time of his arrest. He remains in the Yazoo County Jail.
Deputies made another arrest early Monday morning when they notice a man urinating in the parking lot of the Titanic Mini Mart after patrolling the Shady Lane neighborhood.
Sheriff said the suspect, Riko Taylor, jumped in his car and attempted to leave.
In addition to indecent exposure, Taylor is also charged with DUI.
“Both of these arrests are examples of the kind of strange things people do when they’re intoxicated,” Sheriff said. “Our job is to keep them off the roads.”
