Yazoo County deputies recovered a substantial amount of drugs heading for the streets last week.
Three suspects remain in jail in separate incidents involving large amounts of methamphetamine and other narcotics.
Antwan Bass, a habitual offender, added a number of drug charges to his record after deputies found an assortment of drugs inside a Shady Lane apartment.
“We got a call about an assault on his girlfriend,” said Sheriff Jake Sheriff. “Once deputies arrived, they smelled marijuana inside the home.”
Shortly afterward, deputies found over 11 grams of methamphetamine, ten tablets of ecstasy, prescription pills and crack cocaine in the back bedroom of the apartment.
Bass remained in jail at press time on a $100,000 bond.
In a separate drug arrest, William Sean Young was charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.
“After a search warrant was executed, meth was found inside a camper trailer at the Bentonia Cotton Gin on Highway 433,” Sheriff said.
Young remained in jail as of press time on a $70,000 bond.
Deputies also made another drug arrest with Lawanda Burks on Dover Road.
“She was on the side of the road, attempting to use meth,” Sheriff said. “She also had a large rock of meth inside her mouth.”
