A convicted sex offender returned to court this week and will serve five years in prison in connection with an aggravated assault case.
Quinton Beasley, 35, pleaded guilty to aggravated assault in Yazoo County Circuit Court and was sentenced to 10 years in a state prison with five years suspended.
Beasley has a lengthy criminal record, including a year in jail with a 2003 conviction of gratification of lust. He was also convicted of identity theft in 2012, among other criminal charges.
In other court news, Cortez Day will serve three years in a state prison after pleading guilty to accessory after the fact of an aggravated assault.
