A body found along Highway 16 last week has been positively identified as a Louisiana man reported missing since Aug. 3.
“His body was positively identified through fingerprints,” said Terry Gann, chief investigator with the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department. “His cause of death remains under investigation pending the autopsy report.”
Shawn “Corey” King was reported missing from Bossier Parish on Aug. 3. He was last seen in a 2003 black Chevrolet Tahoe. Data collected from King’s cell phone tracked him to Yazoo County.
His body was discovered last Wednesday about 800 yards from a vehicle crash site near Fugates Road in the Benton community.
His vehicle was discovered at Big D’s storage yard after it was towed from the crash site. Investigators later found King’s body in a nearby wooded area.
