The Junior Auxiliary of Yazoo City recently held their February chapter meeting at Parkview Church of God in Yazoo City.
The chapter invited Lily Kate Saxton, Miss Catfish 2019, to speak about the importance of supporting the local Catfish industry and buying U.S. Farm-raised Catfish from Mississippi farmers. Saxton also spoke about her experience with the Miss Catfish Pageant in Belzoni last year, and the work she has done with her platform and educating the public about how U.S. Farm Raised Catfish is regulated to make it safer to eat in comparison to foreign imports.
As Miss Catfish, Saxton will also attend and speak at the Catfish Convention in Las Vegas, NV later this month.
Saxton has also agreed to participate in the Junior Auxiliary of Yazoo City's annual Catfish Plate Fundraiser on Saturday, March 14, which is being held to raise funds for programs benefiting the children of Yazoo City and Yazoo County.
