NATIONAL SUMMARY
Thunderstorms can bring flooding downpours, damaging wind
gusts and even an isolated tornado from Kentucky
southwestward to eastern Texas tomorrow. Those thunderstorms
are likely to continue to affect Kentucky overnight and also
move into Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama and northwestern
Georgia. Flooding rain will be a concern near the Ohio
River. Rain and mountain snow will affect much of the
Rockies and Pacific Northwest. Central and Southern
California will enjoy a welcome break from the recent heavy
rain. The Northeast and New England will be mainly dry. As
the precipitation moves northward overnight and during the
weekend, the air will be cold enough for snow and an icy mix
in upstate New York and central and northern New England.
