Suspect charged with murder in juvenile death

A suspect has been charged in the shooting death of a 15-year-old juvenile last week in Yazoo City.
Mike Patterson Jr. was charged with murder after turning himself in to the local authorities, according to Interim Police Chief Capt. Patrick Jaco.

State reports 439 new COVID-19 cases Saturday , 13 related deaths

Today MSDH is reporting 439 new cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi and 13 new deaths (one of which was on May 11, identified from death certificate reports). Mississippi's total of COVID-19 cases since March 11 now stands at 15,229 , with 723 deaths. Currently there are 430 Mississippians hospitalized with confirmed COVID-19 infection.
