Three new commissioners on the Yazoo City Housing Authority Board were sworn in this week for its first special call meeting with the new board.
Herbert Scott Jr., Carolyn Johnson and Veronica Starling joined Danny Neely and Mamie Williams, who were voted to remain on the board by the city council.

Charges dropped against suspects in Billy Ray Peeples murder case

With witnesses refusing to cooperate, charges have been dismissed against the two suspects charged with the murder of Billy Ray Peeples.
Atoya Savell, 37, and Victor Manor, 31, were both charged with capital murder in connection with the death of Peeples, also known as “the Peanut Man.”

Raiders quarterback JB Middleton is pictured on the run against Newton County Academy in Benton's 37-14 victory.
Caden Stevens led the Raiders offense with four touchdowns.
Rye Yeates led the defense with eight tackles and also scored a touchdown.
This week the Raiders host Carroll Academy.
