Benton Academy closed Monday due to lack of power

Classes have been canceled at Benton Academy for Monday due to a power outage caused by storm damage.
Crews continue to work around the county to restore power after a tornado crossed a portion of the county. First responders and volunteers have been working to clear roads and check on residents in affected areas.

First Bapstist Church celebrates 175 years

Hundreds of Yazooans from near and far attended the 175th anniversary celebration held at the First Baptist Church on Sunday, Feb. 24.
The big event celebrated the formation of the church, which was originally created in 1844 with only 15 charter members.
