For the past month, multiple reports of vandalism and burglaries have ripped through the downtown and Main Street area of Yazoo City. With many local merchants frustrated with the recent rampant crime wave, one city leader suggested bringing in retired police officers to specifically handle the target areas.

Fourth suspect charged in Knox murder case

A fourth juvenile has been charged with capital murder in connection to the death of Wiltavious Knox, who was murdered on Jackson Avenue earlier this year.
Eric Shinall Jr., 17, was charged with capital murder, home invasion, robbery, kidnapping and grand larceny.
