BA sharpshooters compete

The Benton Academy Shooting Team recently participated in the Mississippi Scholastic Shooting Program at the McHenry Shooting Facility in Perkinson, MS. The competition featured over 1,200 students from 400 teams across the state. There were two qualifying meets in the two-day competition with 50 teams qualifying for the State Meet.

The outpatient physical rehabilitation clinic will be closing within 15 days as a part of a layoff of 86 employees at Greenwood Leflore Hospital. A limited staff of physical therapists will remain on staff during that time while patients transition to other physical therapy clinics in the area.

Panthers secure district title win over Elzy

Broc Willingham drove in four runs on four hits to lead Yazoo County to an 18-3 win over Amanda Elzy and help the Panther secure the Region 3-3A title.
Willingham had a single that drove in two runs in the first inning and did it again in the fifth inning for an outstanding performance at the plate.

Mavs riding a 7-game win streak

Manchester Academy is on a seven-game winning streak after sweeping a three-game series with Central Holmes.
The Mavericks defeated the Trojans on the road 11-1 before winning 13-3 and 7-0 at home.
The Mavericks are now 19-4 on the season.
