Dear Editor,
Our family had an emergency a few days ago, and I was out of town. My daughter called me to tell me in the middle of the night, “Mom, don’t panic, but Dad called me to come take him to the hospital due to chest and back pain. Where do I take him?”
I told her Baptist Hospital in Yazoo as we live near Benton and that was the closest medical facility.
The care he received there was excellent. By the time I arrived, his condition was beginning to worsen as with a full blown, very painful, heart attack. The doctor and the nurses were right on top of what needed to be done. This was especially important as when he first arrived, the tests were not revealing much. But that ER doctor kept on checking him out thoroughly instead of just sending him back home.
When the helicopter arrived, that crew was also absolutely wonderful and also knew exactly what to do and did it.
I know sometimes people call our hospital a “band-aid station,” but no workers even in the largest facility in the United States could be any better than those we dealt with. They saved my husband’s life and our family will be forever grateful.
Sincerely,
Cindy King
