After suffering a loss two weeks ago, the Manchester Academy Mavericks bounced back in dramatic fashion, defeating Columbus Christian 47-18 this past Friday night.
MA improved to 6-2 overall with the win and hosts Marvell, Arkansas this Friday.
The Mavericks utilized their ground attack to cruise to the win led by bell cow running back Jake White.
White eclipsed the century mark again, rushing for 112 yards on seven carries with two touchdowns.
Tobias McGee chipped in with 67 yards and two touchdowns on four carries, and Kemp Black had 53 yards and a touchdown on eight carries.
Quarterback Reed Roberts completed 2-of-4 passes for 94 yards and a score. Both receptions were hauled in by Jack Miller.
On the defensive side of the ball, Ty Walton’s eight tackles and two sacks led the way.
Garner Burton had seven tackles, Black had six, Ethan White had five and White and Sam Burton each had three.
