Margaret Ann “Peggy” Holaday Trammell passed away Friday April 16, 2021 at her residence. Born November 12, 1936 to Louise and B.A. Holaday. Peggy grew up in Louise, MS where she attended Louise High School where she was active in their three consecutive basketball championships.
In high school she met her future husband Charles Floyd Trammell from Yazoo City on a blind date. They dated while he played football at Mississippi State, she attended the University of Mississippi for Women in Columbus. She graduated in three years with a degree in elementary education and they married prior to Bubba’s last year at Mississippi State.
After graduation, they lived in Tupelo for a short time before settling back in Louise, MS where she continued to teach locally and as Bubba farmed. Peggy taught hundreds of students during her 40-year teaching career at Sharkey Issaquena Academy and Holly Bluff Elementary Schools.
Visitation will be Tuesday April 20th 9:30 - 11:00 A.M. at Stricklin King Funeral Home in Yazoo City with graveside services in Glenwood Cemetery at 11:00 A.M.
Peggy and Bubber had two children, Tracy Trammell Crimm and Charles.
Peggy is proceeded in death by her parents B.A. and Louise Holaday, husband Charles “Bubba” Trammell.
She is survived by children Tracy Trammell Crimm (Jace) and Charles Trammell (Paula). Grandchildren – Matt King (Laura), Ashleigh Frey (Jude), Haley Hand (Caleb), Brittany Dunne (Justin), and Josh Trammell (Mary Faith), Caitlin McClellan (Garrett).
Great-grandchildren – Prather, Kemper, and Emma Kate King, Anna Rilee and Creely Frey, Hudson and Blakely Hand, Ava Grace Dunne, and Brie and Ruthie Kate McClellan.
Memorials may be made to Louise United Methodist Church or French Camp Academy.
