An Independent candidate vying for the city's mayoral post has announced his withdrawal from the race.
Eugene Fouche has dropped his candidacy for the mayoral seat in the upcoming general election. Three candidates are now vying for the city's top leadership post in the April general election.
After defeating incumbent Mayor Diane Delaware in the primary election in February, candidate David "Mel" Starling will represent the Democratic party in the general election.
Current Alderman Sir Johnathan Rucker will be vying for the mayoral post, running as an Independent. Another Independent candidate includes Cynthia Walker.
The general election will be held on April 4. Absentee ballots are also available to the public at the city clerk’s office in City Hall.
