With a score of 224 points, the Yazoo County Panther track team wiped out the competition to bring home first place honors at the Class 3A North Super Regional track meet held at Winona. The host school Winona finished second with a score of 95.
On the girls side, Winona took first place with a score of 150.50 while the Lady Panthers of Yazoo County finished second with 135.50 points.
Bring home first place honors in their individual categories were Panthers:
Victor Diaz: 3200m (11:29); 1600m (5:11); Adarius Hodge: 110 hurdles (16.18); Malikh Brown: 300 hurdles (43.98); Derrick Parker: high jump (5-10); Jacari Watson: shot put (45-02.00); discus (126-11); Daruso Williams: triple jump (38.02.00); and the 4x400m relay: (3:39.58); 4x200m relay: (1:32.54).
Lady Panther first place finishers were:
Jamariah Barton: 100m (13.20); 200m (27.37).
